As part of ABANEA, a round-table discussion organised by Escena Galega will take place, bringing together representatives from various professional performing arts associations in Galicia to create a space for dialogue.
The meeting will involve Escena Galega, the Association of Actors and Actresses of Galicia (AAAG), the Association of Movement Arts Professionals of Galicia (PAM) and the Association of Circus Professionals of Galicia (APCG), promoting a working space focused on exchanging perspectives and building shared frameworks for the sector’s future.
Through this initiative, ABANEA reaffirms its commitment to serving as a space for meeting, reflection and support for the professional dance and movement arts community, fostering dialogue and collaboration amongst the various stakeholders that make up the Galician performing arts ecosystem.

SYNOPSIS:
Raised in the Catholic tradition, Lola has lived by beliefs that, all of a sudden, no longer sustain her. She no longer knows what she believes in or who she is without that faith which once gave her a sense of purpose. What was once a firm foundation has now become a crack that forces her to rethink who she is and how she wants to live.
COMPANY HISTORY:
Andrea Castro launched her dance creation project in 2025 with Lola y los lamentos, a piece conceived for unconventional spaces and developed as part of the 2025–2026 Apoio Bienal programme of the ABANEA Dance and Movement Festival, in collaboration with the Paideia Galiza Foundation. A Galician dancer and creator, she has been a member of the Colectivo D’elas since 2020, working as a co-creator and performer. With this company, she is involved in the creation of É Difícil Fotografar o Baleiro (2024) and Velaiquich, Amoorch! (2025). Lola y los lamentos marks the beginning of her career as a creator and her first foray into her own artistic universe.

SYNOPSIS:
Saias do mar is a contemporary dance piece that pays tribute to Galician women as an ancestral force linked to the sea. Inspired by the Camino Traslatio, the work transforms the body into a fluid landscape where memory, identity and legacy unfold like the waters of the Atlantic. Through movement, the dance constructs a symbolic landscape in which tradition and the present engage in dialogue, evoking the resilience, transformative power and ability to pass on their heritage of the women who inhabit the coast and its history.
COMPANY HISTORY:
Artístika Movemento is a Galician dance company founded by Nerea Andrés and Juan Miguel Hernández, focused on the creation and production of stage projects using different forms of movement. Their work takes place in theatres and auditoriums as well as in unconventional venues, viewing the body as a tool for communication, identity and connection with the audience. Their creations are rooted in physical and visual research that combines technique, stage presence and artistic sensibility, whilst maintaining a close connection with their cultural roots and the contemporary artistic context. In addition to their creative work, the company drives initiatives aimed at professionalising dance in Galicia, promoting opportunities for training, collaboration and artistic growth that contribute to the dissemination of dance both within and beyond Galicia.

COMPANY HISTORY:
Raquel Ferradás and María de Vicente reunited artistically after having trained together in Vigo. Since then, they have been developing their own projects and collaborating with various Galician and Spanish companies. Diz-me, meu amor premiered at the 6Coreógrafas festival and cements their artistic affinity centred on movement and shared emotion.

SYNOPSIS:
WTF! is a headlong rush, the frantic flight of two creatures who have arrived on Earth from a distant and strange planet. Or simply a different one.
It is an expression of shock transformed into a frenetic, absurd spectacle. A blend of play and movement that, through colour and brilliance, crystallises a sinister idea beneath the mist of the party: why are these two creatures running? What do they see that makes them flee relentlessly forwards? What terrifies them so much?
Perhaps they don’t like what they see down here. Or perhaps those creatures from another galaxy are all of us, reflected in an unexpected mirror. Running until we’re out of breath, heading towards who knows where.
COMPANY HISTORY:
Ay, Cariño! is the artistic project that, since 2023, has brought together the collaborative creative work of artists Cris Vilariño and Diego M. Buceta, following extensive individual careers. The company’s first productions are Millo Vello (a theatre show co-produced by the Centro Coreográfico Galego) and WTF! (a street performance and show in unconventional spaces).
Cris Vilariño combines her artistic work with her teaching career, delivering Body Weather workshops and movement and body awareness workshops. She has launched various cultural programming and outreach projects, such as the Cartografía en Movemento festival and the Lugo en Danza series.
Diego M. Buceta has performed for companies and creators such as Aitana Cordero, Lucía Marote, Roberta Ferrara, La Coja Dansa and Voadora; and in the field of creation, he was part of Pálido Domingo company, premiering three shows (No hay que ser una casa para tener fantasmas was awarded the Critics’ Prize at the 2018 Madrid Choreography Competition).

Inspired by the Japanese concept of the tokonoma, Desvelo is a piece in which the performer creates a space for contemplation and action. Movement becomes labour, care and listening, revealing an inner garden that transforms before the audience’s eyes.
ARTIST’S CAREER:
Alejandro Moya began his career in breakdancing and went on to train in contemporary dance and osteopathy. He has worked with companies and artists such as Peeping Tom, Sharon Fridman, Korsia and Antonio Ruz. His work as a choreographer explores the relationship between physical exertion, ritual and inner transformation.

ALENDA offers a brief yet intense journey exploring the power of the collective and its inevitable fracture. What at first appears to be a close-knit community gradually begins to crumble, until a lingering question emerges: what remains of a group when it ceases to be one? As if the shared substance were fragmenting into multiple particles, the piece does not seek a definitive conclusion, but rather a space of dispersion, possibility and resonance. An open ending that allows the movement to continue beyond the stage, inviting the audience to complete their own journey.

Colectivo Glovo is a Galician-Portuguese dance company based in Galicia, co-directed by Esther Latorre and Hugo Pereira. Since its inception, it has built up a strong international presence, presenting its work in countries such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Costa Rica, South Korea, Indonesia, France and the United States, amongst others, and receiving various awards and accolades at European festivals. In addition to their work as creators and performers, both are driving the ‘Atopémonos Bailando’ programme of artistic residencies and research, actively contributing to the development and internationalisation of contemporary dance in Galicia.

Adsurbe is a physical and visceral exploration of exhaustion in a world that constantly demands more. Through precise, pulsating movements, interspersed with moments of rupture, the piece follows a body pushed to its limits, oscillating between control and collapse, acceleration and fatigue. The choreography reveals the invisible weight of productivity, performance and social expectations that slowly erode individual identity.

Founded in France in 2019, OUPS Dance Company was established with the aim of fostering originality and broadening access to contemporary dance and electro. Its stage language combines contemporary dance, electro, acrobatics and contortion, incorporating humour and a taste for the unexpected as distinctive elements of its work. Led by Émilie Joneau and Clémence Juglet, the company has built an international reputation that has earned it numerous accolades at European venues and competitions. With Adsurbe, they won the 2022 Les Synodales Prize and the 10 Sentidos Choreography Competition in Valencia, and were selected for international festivals and platforms such as MASDANZA 2025 and the 7th Stray Birds Dance Platform in Taiwan.

SÖA is a Galician performing arts project created by Martín Blanco, Marta Velázquez and Carlota Rosón Rojo, which combines music, dance and theatre in a unique style. The collective has taken part in festivals and artistic residencies in Galicia, Catalonia, Madrid and Portugal, developing their work in venues such as the Casa del Teatre Nu, the headquarters of the National Dance Company and the Atopémonos Bailando residency programme. With their show Coa cabeza nas nubes, they were part of the Da Man programme and the LAC Residencies at the National Drama Centre. In 2026, they received the Best Show Award at the Imaginarius festival (Portugal).

SYNOPSIS:
About Us challenges female archetypes through an exploration of the many facets of femininity. The piece moves through different stages of life, depicting an in-between space of identity built upon fantasies, memories, regrets and social pressures. Through physical contact, breathing and shared intimacy, the performers weave a narrative that oscillates between loneliness and the need for community, highlighting the human experience as a space for connection.
COMPANY HISTORY:
Tjaša Bucik and Patricija Crnkovič have been collaborating artistically since 2022. Having trained at the MP3 Dance Project Academy in Rome and Codarts Rotterdam respectively, they develop work centred on contemporary creation and choreographic research. Their early works include the virtual reality experience TEBI, Nearby and the miniature piece VERT, which have been presented at various international festivals and competitions. In 2024, they created About Us, an intergenerational piece whose short version won First Prize at the 2025 Belgrade Choreographic Competition. Their career combines creation, performance and teaching, with projects presented across various European countries, establishing them as two of the most interesting emerging voices on the contemporary Slovenian scene.

Amidst desires, expectations and projections, the protagonist moves between reality and fantasy in search of a different version of himself.
COMPANY HISTORY:
SÖA is a Galician performing arts project created by Martín Blanco, Marta Velázquez and Carlota Rosón Rojo, which combines music, dance and theatre in a unique style. The collective has taken part in festivals and artistic residencies in Galicia, Catalonia, Madrid and Portugal, developing their work in venues such as the Casa del Teatre Nu, the headquarters of the National Dance Company and the Atopémonos Bailando residency programme. With their show Coa cabeza nas nubes, they were part of the Da Man programme and the LAC Residencies at the National Drama Centre. In 2026, they received the Best Show Award at the Imaginarius festival (Portugal).

SYNOPSIS:
BAUNSBAK is a physical journey between elation and collapse, between the inertia of movement and the search for balance. With jumping boots on, every bounce amplifies the body and turns the floor into a living resonator. A vibrant experience in which dance is not only watched, but also heard and felt.
COMPANY HISTORY:
Elvi Balboa develops a concept in which the body becomes a critical and multisensory territory. Engaging with electronic music, light and science fiction, her work explores issues relating to identity, community and our relationship with the environment. Her notable creations include AM I WHAT?, ANÖA and BAUNSBAK, which was featured in the Danza a Escena and Acieloabierto programmes.

SYNOPSIS:
Pista de Baile is one of ABANEA’s signature events and brings each day of the festival’s performing arts programme to a close. Conceived as a meeting place, it invites the audience to transform the stage into a shared space for participation, celebration and movement. Through simple and accessible activities, artists, local residents and attendees come together for a collective experience in which dancing becomes a way of connecting, engaging with the space and building community.
Each edition forges new links with the local area, encouraging the participation of local groups and creating a lively, open and unpredictable finale that turns dance into a genuine shared celebration.

EN REDE
EnRede is ABANEA’s artistic support programme, which promotes the development of emerging dance creators through residencies, creative support, forums for exchange and opportunities to raise their profile.
In this edition, Andrea Castro continues the support programme that began in 2025. Her piece Lola y los lamentos, created as part of ABANEA, was subsequently selected by the Red Acieloabierto and programmed at festivals such as Cádiz en Danza and Danza Trayectos (Zaragoza).
At the same time, Martín Blanco joins EnRede with the presentation of Máis, a work developed during an artistic residency with the festival’s support, marking the start of his journey within this support programme.

ABANEA CHANNEL
Documentary and digital outreach programme
ABANEA Channel continues to expand the festival through social media and is introducing a new documentary and artistic strand that captures the voices, processes and memories of each edition, thereby extending its life beyond the in-person event.

SYNOPSIS:
An audio documentary that captures the festival’s acoustic trail: conversations, music, ambient sounds, voices and brief snippets of the shared experience. A sensory archive that transforms the memory of the festival into a podcast, allowing ABANEA to live on beyond its time and space.
CAREER:
Carlota Mosquera is a Galician actress, creator and communicator. Her work spans the performing arts, television, radio and digital media, exploring new ways of narrating and communicating contemporary creativity. Through ABANEA Channel, she investigates how to translate the experience of the performing arts into the language of social media and documentary formats, creating new spaces for interaction between artists, audiences and the community.
